Banking

Devonshires' Banking team has over fifteen years' experience in dealing with all types of finance transactions for its clients - financial institutions, security trustees and borrowers. These range from straightforward loan facilities to multitranche syndicated and bilateral loans; refinancings; interest rate derivatives; swap lines; debenture stock and eurobond issues (both rated and unrated, including securitisations); project finance for PFI and stand alone projects; security trust deeds; loan book sales and purchases; multiple deals; and equity finance and equity loans.

The team has advised on banking contracts with a value in excess of £4 billion, with the smallest loan being under £100,000 and the largest refinancing in excess of £1.5 billion when completed. The team - consisting of partners
Andrew Cowan, Gareth Hall and Julian Barker and senior solicitor Carolyn Thomas - has an expanding client base of over 100 institutional borrowers, the majority of which are Registered Social Landlords, and 10 financial institutions.

The team has a reputation for its speed of response, a service-led approach and attention to detail in delivering a bespoke product to its clients and is complemented by our securitisation team. Members of the team lecture widely on finance contracts and present regular seminars to clients.
