Devonshires advise Great Places Housing Group

Friday, 06 November 2009

Devonshires acted for Great Places Housing Group in connection with the transfer of engagements of Ashiana Housing Association and Space New Living Limited to Manchester Methodist Housing Association. The merged body has been renamed Great Places Housing Association.

Andrew Cowan led the Devonshires team with Julian Barker leading on banking issues; assistant solicitors Karim Senussi and Eleanor James working on the corporate aspects and Amanda Harvey leading on pensions issues.

The merger included the negotiation of a sector first negotiated by Amanda Harvey, the Head of Devonshires' Employment team. Agreement was reached with the Pensions Trust that the SHPS liability could be apportioned to the merged body without the provision of security.
The transaction was completed successfully and will allow the Group to create additional savings on its operational and governance functions.
