Antony is a Partner in our Projects Group specialising in public-private partnerships, property based projects and education. Antony is head of our Education Team. He has acted for local authorities, private companies, funders, free school promoters and academies on a wide range of projects and matters.
Antony began his career with Devonshires in October 2000 before leaving in 2005 to become Senior Legal Counsel at Sodexo with responsibility for complex transactions. Antony rejoined Devonshires in 2007 after two years with Sodexo.
Antony has experience of working on a wide range of projects in a number of sectors including in the health, education, housing, care, extra care, defence, courts, leisure, university accommodation, emergency services accommodation and prisons sectors. Antony also advises on large scale regeneration projects and portfolio disposals.
In recent years, Antony has become more focused on the education and regeneration (including LIFT) sectors.
In the education sector, Antony is currently advising free school promoters on the establishment of their schools. Antony is also working with a number of schools on their conversion to academy status as well as advising local authorities on a number of continuing capital projects. On the projects front, Antony continues to advise LIFT companies, local authorities and sub-contractors in relation to new LIFT schemes. Antony is also advising on a number of housing regeneration projects including schemes in Ealing, Aylesbury and South London.
Antony led the team which won the 2009 LIFT Best Advisors award. He is also a member of the Education Law Association and is a governor of a Community Special School in Surrey.
