European Court of Human Rights – O.P. v. the United Kingdom: A statement on behalf of the Rt Hon Owen Paterson

In October last year, our client, Mr Owen Paterson was found by the House of Commons Committee on Standards to have, in the Committee’s words, “used his privileged position as a Member of Parliament to secure benefits for two companies for whom he was a paid consultant…” The Committee described Mr Paterson’s alleged actions as “an egregious case of paid advocacy.”

Outcome of consultation on Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 – six month no-fault notice period for converted periodic standard occupation contracts to apply from 1 June 2023

In September a consultation was issued on a proposal to extend the landlord’s no-fault notice period required for converted periodic standard contracts under the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 (RHWA 2016) from two months to six months.
