Speakers:Zoe McLean-Wells, Partner, Housing Management & Property Litigation Zoe advises on all aspects of housing management and practice including all aspects of leasehold, possession proceedings, injunctions, enfranchisement, forfeiture, service charge issues, Tribunal proceedings and lease interpretation. She has a particular interest in fire and building safety related matters. Zoe’s clients are predominately Registered Providers, but she has also historically advised high street lenders, fixed charge receivers, private landowners and private clients. Zoe started her legal career as a housing management lawyer at Walker Morris LLP where she worked for 10 years before joining Devonshires in early 2021. Hannah Keane, Senior Associate, Housing Management & Property Litigation Hannah advises landlords, building owners on various aspects of housing management and property litigation. Hannah has experience in County Court and High Court litigation, mediation, proceedings in the First-tier Tribunal and both contentious and non-contentious dispute resolution. Hannah also has a property litigation practice which includes advising on lease disputes and interpretation, service charge challenges and fire and building safety matters. Hannah advises on obligations under the Building Safety Act 2022, including the identification and obligations of duty holders, service charge restrictions and potential recovery via supplementary regulations, as well as responsibilities in respect of fire doors. Sarah Salmon, Barrister, Cornerstone Barristers Sarah Salmon specialises in public law, housing, and property law. She is ranked as a leading junior in Legal 500 for both Administrative Law and Human Rights and Social Housing. She is recommended in Chambers and Partners for Housing. In 2024, she was appointed to the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s panel of counsel (B panel) and nominated for Property and Housing Junior of the Year in the Legal 500 Bar awards. Sarah has represented public bodies (including the police), charities, local authorities, housing associations, individuals and companies in her specialist areas. She was chair of the Social Housing Law Association from January 2019 to December 2022. She is now the chair of the Wales branch of SHLA. Sarah was Highly Commended in the 2020 Junior Pro Bono Barrister of the Year category at the Advocate Bar Pro Bono Awards and, in the same year, was chosen to take part in the Bar Council’s inaugural leadership programme. Sarah participated in the Master of the Rolls Working Group on possession proceedings (2020) and was part of the JUSTICE housing disputes working party (2019).
