Jonathan graduated from Lancaster University with a BA in History and Politics before completing his CPE and LPC at the College of Law

Jonathan advises on a wide range of specialisms within the social housing sector; from joint ventures to stock transfers, mergers to regeneration projects. His knowledge encompasses both Local Authority housing law as well as that which applies to the voluntary sector.
Prior to Devonshires Solicitors, Jonathan spent 15 years at Trowers & Hamlins LLP during which time he specialised in public private partnerships, housing transfers and advised Homes England on a number of their investment programmes.
Jonathan regularly provides comments and articles for Inside Housing on topical issues. Recent commentaries have discussed the Government’s proposed Flagship First Homes policy and the role local authorities can play in managing RP stock.
Jonathan has spoken at the CHC and NIFHA annual conferences.
Jonathan has three children who keep him busy most weekends. Any spare time is taken up trying to improve his tennis and golf or lamenting over another Sunderland AFC defeat.
Jonathan led on the establishment of a joint venture between 10 of the members of the Greater Manchester Housing Partnership and the Combined Authority. The joint venture will unlock key strategic site within the Greater Manchester area.
Jonathan has advised on a number of mergers and group consolidation exercises in the sector; including the Group consolidation exercises undertaken by Your Housing Group and Onward Homes and the mergers including Bromford HA and Merlin HA and between Radian & Seven to create the Pobl Group.
Jonathan advised on the corporate aspects of Swan Housing Group’s £600m joint venture with Southend Borough Council to regenerate the Queensway area in the centre of Southend.
