Katy was a Paralegal at Devonshires previously advising on all aspects of property transactions both freehold and leasehold including conveyancing, lease extension, enfranchisement claims, statutory agreements, wayleaves, easements, auction sales. Currently she is working with Hannah Langford in our Real Estates & Projects department acting on more specialised transactions.
Katy has worked in property for the past 7 years and was the previous lead fee earner for our lease extension team being the port of call for all queries regarding to lease extensions and enfranchisements whether on a voluntary or statutory basis under the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 or the Leasehold Reform Act 1967. Katy was also a part of the newer Energy, Infrastructure and Telecoms Team assisting on utility wayleaves and statutory agreements.

Katy undertook her law degree at Cardiff University and then returned to London to undertake her LPC at the University of Law in Moorgate.
Outside of work, Katy is an active dancer and a well known face on the London folk and historical dance circuits.
On a more quiet note, Katy is an avid reader and a loud participant of the Devonshires book club.
She also spends her spare time crocheting and sewing having just finished work on her project commemorating D-Day which will be shown in France next year, or reading in her own private library.
Katy is also a member of Historic Royal Palaces and will often spend her free evenings or dance-free weekends at one of the palaces or attending their various events.
Katy was has been published on Devonshires website and social media with an article about the ground rent changes.
Katy assists on a number of our large scales projects, from being involved in our record breaking stock swap in 2021, or on our award winning projects. She is currently working on multiple large scale projects.
Katy used to lead our lease extension team and enfranchisement team working on lease extension schemes for registered providers across England and Wales enabling them to extend their leases or purchase freeholds in order to better their charging portfolio. These schemes can range from a few properties, to over a hundred.
Katy recently assisted with various buybacks for a large London Council on one of their estates to be regenerated. This includes not only the standard conveyancing, but also additional provisions covering the seller’s purchases of onwards properties, granting ASTs (if required) and the payment of home loss payments. There is another regeneration site which Katy is still working on.
