Areas of Expertise

Nikita recently qualified into the Employment team after completing her training contract in March, during which she undertook her final seat in the department. This gave her the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in both contentious and non-contentious employment law before qualifying into the team.

On the contentious side, Nikita has experience taking cases through the Employment Tribunal process, particularly on claims involving harassment, unfair dismissal, sex, disability, race, and pregnancy/maternity discrimination, as well as cases concerning a failure to make reasonable adjustments. Her tribunal experience has enabled her to develop strong case management skills, and client care skills, supporting organisations throughout the litigation process.

On the non-contentious side, Nikita assists clients with workplace grievances and appeals and has supported the team in advising on immigration sponsorship queries throughout her time in the department. In addition, Nikita drafts and negotiates settlement agreements (including COT3 agreements) and reviews and drafts employment policies, staff handbooks and employment contracts. More recently, Nikita has assisted the team with a large-scale data subject access request, ensuring compliance with ICO guidance and data protection obligations.

Nikita is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association, which helps her stay up to date with the latest developments in employment law.

Experience

Before commencing her training contract, Nikita worked as a Paralegal in the Real Estate and Projects Team. During her training contract, she gained experience across a range of practice areas, completing seats in Real Estate and Projects, Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Construction, Engineering and Procurement, and Employment.

Education

Nikita graduated in English Literature at Anglia Ruskin University before completing the GDL and LPC at The University of Law.

Personal

Outside of work Nikita enjoys cooking a variety of meals and trying out different restaurants and cuisines with family and friends.

Nikita also enjoys reading and painting in her spare time.
