Areas of Expertise
Tasha specialises in leasehold enfranchisement, advising on statutory and voluntary lease extensions and collective enfranchisement under the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 and the Leasehold Reform Act 1967. She acts for institutional landlords, social housing providers and tenant clients, advising on notice strategy, statutory compliance, title issues and lease documentation.
Having acted on both landlord and tenant matters, Tasha brings a practical, well-rounded perspective to enfranchisement work and advises clients on the legal implications of ongoing leasehold reform.
Experience
Tasha has over 20 years’ experience in the legal sector, with a strong focus on leasehold enfranchisement and residential property matters.
Her experience spans acting for landlords, registered providers and tenants in statutory lease extensions and enfranchisement claims, as well as advising on wider property and asset management matters.
She has also advised on mixed-tenure developments, statutory disposals, and residential sales, and has experience supervising junior lawyers and supporting team delivery on complex property portfolios.
Education
Tasha qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive following completion of her legal studies at the University of Wolverhampton. She began her legal career straight from college, combining practical experience with formal study from an early stage, which provided a strong foundation in property law.
Personal
Outside of work, Tasha enjoys travel and spending time with her family. Originally from Jamaica, she values time spent there with relatives and enjoys exploring new destinations. She also enjoys cooking and hosting family gatherings.
