Devonshires Volunteer at Old Palace School

A group of Devonshires staff recently volunteered their time to assist Old Palace School in the Borough of Tower Hamlets with getting their grounds ready for the commencement of the new school term.

Sandra Wheeler, Charlotte Benson-Goring, William O’Brien, Amy Ling, Pauline Lépissier, Manjutha Vamanananthan, Hannah Keane, Katie Grohmann and Sundas Malik volunteered to help with a number of tasks at the school including painting outdoor equipment, sweeping the playground, putting up fencing and assembling flat pack small garden green houses.

Sandra Wheeler, a solicitor at Devonshires, initially contacted Old Palace School on behalf of our CSR committee to enquire about setting-up a reading scheme which would involve our solicitors working with the children on a regular basis. As part of this scheme it was agreed we would also help, where possible, with general maintenance tasks at the school.

While the reading programme is still in the planning stages, we hope it will be up and running in the near future and look forward to working with the school further.
