Devonshires’ 500 miles Challenge (doubled!)

On Saturday 17th of October, we kicked-off a two-week ‘Devonshires’ 500 miles Challenge’ to raise vital funds for our four partner charities.

Staff have begun the task of virtually traveling the distance between our London, Leeds, and Colchester offices, by logging their daily miles through whatever activity they can.

We are undertaking this two-week challenge in aid of our four partner charities: Friends of the ElderlyThe SpitzSkyWay, and St Georges Crypt. This year our usual methods of fundraising have been disrupted, but that hasn’t stopped us. This is the third virtual challenge we have undertaken following our successful Virtual Flower Show in June and our Alternative Art Show in August.

Amazingly, by day 4 of our current challenge, we have covered 418 of the 500 miles. When setting the challenge we didn’t anticipate reaching our target so quickly and as so many of our staff are enjoying taking part we decided to double the miles to 1,000!

To support and encourage staff reach our target we have held a photo competition and provided helpful guidance on setting goals with further tips on warming up and cooling down being prepared.

We will be sharing updates and pictures on our LinkedIn and Twitter feeds, so our followers can keep up with our ongoing progress, as we aim to hit our virtual distance and fundraising target! You might even see someone you know from the Devonshires team.

Find out more about the challenge on our fundraising page, where you can also donate to help our partner charities ensure that they continue to the amazing work that they do.
