Devonshires Solicitors chase the sun to raise £1,400 for Action for Kids

A team of Devonshires solicitors, together with a few of our friends “chased the sun” this weekend, cycling 200 miles in 14 hours to complete a Coast to Coast challenge. Setting off at 4.39am the team cycled from Sheerness to Burnham on Sea in a single day.

Our intrepid riders managed to raise over £1,400 for Action for Kids, a national charity working with children and young people with physical and learning disabilities, their parents and carers. This money will go towards providing wheelchairs and mobility equipment, supporting families and work-related training and development for disabled young people.

Philip Barden, our Head of Commercial Litigation and one of this weekend’s riders, said “we have worked with Action for Kids for many years and continue to be amazed at the good work that they do. Aching legs and a few saddle sores are a small price to pay to raise money for this worthy cause.”

Lyn Prodger at Action for Kids said, “community support and social responsibility is embedded into the ethos at Devonshires. When we ask for support, the response is always phenomenal. Devonshires employees have an appetite for extreme and arduous fundraising challenges and they always present a positive and energetic approach to working with us.”
