How to run a redundancy: An overview

How to run a redundancy: An overview

For many organisations, redundancies are an unfortunate effect of the Covid-19 pandemic. It is important for the organisation and the people that a redundancy process is done right. Recent statistics show that unfortunately this is not always the outcome. For example a recent Citizens Advice Bureau report suggest that parents, carers and disabled employees were up to twice as likely to be at risk of redundancy as the rest of the population, which implies that redundancy can be mis-identified as the reason for termination and/or that selection criteria are not applied in a non-discriminatory manner. In this first webinar in a new mini-series we will break a redundancy programme down into its component parts and provide a high level overview of the different problems that can arise at each stage and how to prevent, manage and mitigate them. Further webinars will then address each area in more detail.

Topics covered by the mini-series

  • Identifying a redundancy
  • Consultation
  • Selection
  • Redeployment
  • Entitlements on termination

Participants can sign up to as many webinars in this mini-series as they wish by visiting the programme page here.
