Changes to the Planning Regime and Use Classes

The Government has announced that we are due to see a radical shake up of the planning system.

The aim is to deliver a system able to support the acceleration of delivery of the development of new homes, hospitals and schools. The exact details are to follow however, the message seems clear that the government are looking to the construction and development sectors to provide a platform to “build, build, build” the economy back to previous levels of growth. The legislation has been laid before Parliament and it is anticipated that it will come into force on 1st September 2020.

In our new article, we provide an overview of the proposed new system, as well as an outline of the updated Use Classes Order and its impacts for landlords and developers.

You can view the updated Use Classes Order table separately here.
