Kazakh Judicial Training Programme

Devonshires supports training programme for Kazakh judges and staff organised by the Law Society.

The Law Society of England and Wales in partnership with the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan, the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) and City University is implementing a judicial training programme for Kazakh judges and legal representatives. The programme is designed to contribute towards greater judicial independence by institutionalising the key concepts, practices and principles of English law and includes placements in solicitors’ firm, barristers’ chambers and with the judiciary. Further details can be found here.

As part of this programme, Devonshires hosted two delegates who sat within our Commercial Litigation team. We received very positive feedback from the Law Society following our contribution to the Kazakh Judicial training programme. The delegates were impressed with the range of work undertaken by Devonshires and found the placement useful and informative.

Following the success of this placement, we have agreed to host two judges during the second placement week (14-18 August).

For further information, please contact Anna Buch in our Commercial Litigation Team.
