Devonshires grows partnership with in-house promotions

We are delighted to announce we have promoted solicitors Aruna Sarwar, Michelle Mullen and Nikki Bowker to partner, increasing our number of partners to 36.

In the midst of uncertain economic and political times, we are committed to continuing the growth of our business and these promotions play an important role in that continued growth. They represent three key areas of our business; Corporate & Commercial, Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Real Estate & Projects and mark an important career milestone, by which we recognise the commitment and high performance during their careers.

Aruna joined Devonshires in 2009 and is a real estate and projects specialist. Aruna advises on all aspects of residential development and regeneration projects, specialising in large scale portfolio acquisition and disposal programmes.

Michelle joined Devonshires in 2012 and specialises in all aspects of corporate and commercial law. Her advice covers all forms of commercial contracts, IT supply and support, joint ventures and other partnering arrangements, acquisitions and disposals and a variety of company advisory and start-up matters.

Nikki joined our Litigation & Dispute Resolution team in 2014 and has a varied litigation practice with particular expertise in cases arising from the justice sector, historic prosecutions and inquests, IT disputes and social media and reputation management.

When asked about the promotions, Aruna said: “I am delighted to work for a firm that offers excellent career development opportunities for its employees and to have reached the partnership milestone. I am proud of the range of services that my highly-skilled colleagues provide to meet the opportunities and challenges facing our clients, and look forward to continuing to work with them in my new role.”

Michelle added: “I’m very pleased to be promoted to partner alongside Aruna and Nikki and to work in such a successful and progressive firm.”

Nikki said: “I am proud to have been promoted to partner in our dynamic and successful Litigation and Dispute Resolution team and appreciate the confidence and trust the partners have shown in me. Litigation is an area of law where women are particularly underrepresented and I hope to be able to use my new role as a platform to support my colleagues in their career progression, which I know the firm will support.”

Philip Barden, Senior Partner at Devonshires, said: “I am absolutely delighted to be welcoming Aruna, Michelle and Nikki to the partnership. All three have shown outstanding work and dedication to their colleagues, the firm, but most importantly their clients. I wish all three the very best of luck in their new roles.”

The promotions take effect from 1st April 2019.
