“Charities hold special status in society and the public rightly have high expectations of them… No charity should ever use or be used by non-charitable organisations to pursue uncharitable interests.” – Helen Stephenson, CEO Charity Commission
In March 2019, the Charity Commission published its relationship guidance for those charities connected to non-charities, and applicable to registered charities and exempt charities alike. In this seminar we examine the six principles set out in that guidance and their application to the most common types charity/non-charity connections in the sector. We will use case studies from both the Charity Commission and our own experience to help you examine what you should be doing to ensure your connections and relationships meet legal and regulatory requirements.
