Anti-social behaviour as a result of drugs comes in many forms, from drug use and drug dealing, to cannabis farms, county lines and cuckooing. Landlords are on the frontline and are playing an ever increasing and important role in tackling the issue. During this session Donna McCarthy and Victoria Smith will take you through the various ways in which landlords have had to deal with the issues caused by drugs and the legal remedies that might be available to them.

About the Speakers:

Donna McCarthy, Partner, Housing Management & Property Litigation, Devonshires

Donna heads up a team advising on all aspects of housing management law and practice, acting for Local Authorities, Registered Providers and private landlords in complex litigation, including possession proceedings; actions to restrain Anti-Social Behaviour; injunctions and disrepair actions. She also advises social landlords on matters of housing policy and procedure. She has particular specialism in matters relating to mental health, capacity and safeguarding.

Victoria Smith, Solicitor, Housing Management and Property Litigation

Vicky advises Registered Providers and Local Authorities in a range of housing matters to include possession proceedings, Anti-social behaviour injunction applications, committal applications and disrepair, Fitness for Human Habitation & EPA claims.
