Specialised Supported Housing; what it is, how to avoid issues with recovering rent, and how to manage rents upon stock transfer

Recovering rent for specialised supported housing can be fraught with issues given the need for rent levels to be agreed.
This session will cover what SSH is, how you can avoid running into problems in recovering rent and how to manage SSH when transferring stock.

 

Caroline Mostowfi, Partner, Real Estate & Projects 
Caroline focuses on regeneration and development projects and specialist accommodation projects including transfers of going concern, public-private partnerships and joint ventures. Many of the projects which Caroline has advised upon have involved a housing element, often with a regeneration dimension or an element of service provision including care, extra care, student accommodation, leisure and energy services.
Samantha Grix, Partner 
Samantha leads on rent regulation at Devonshires and has expert knowledge of the law relating to rent and also regulation. She advised on all manner of rent queries from errors in rent setting and classification, rent reviews, regulation and dealing with the Regulator. Samantha also drafts and conducts reviews of policies and procedures.
