Mark London, Partner and Head of the Construction, Engineering & Procurement Team

Mark is the Head of the Construction, Engineering & Procurement Team at Devonshires and advises on all aspects of construction law with a particular emphasis on contentious work. Mark has a wide client base and he regularly acts for public bodies, housing developers, Local Authorities and contractors throughout the United Kingdom.

Mark is a leading construction lawyer and represents clients at adjudication, arbitration and in litigation in the Technology and Construction Court. The vast majority of this work includes prosecuting or defending claims for time, quality and money.

Matthew Cocklin, Partner, Construction & Engineering

Matthew specialises in construction dispute resolution. He is described in the Legal 500 as an “exceptional lawyer”, “a real fighter” and “someone you want in the trenches with you”. Clients also know Matthew for being responsive and delivering decisive, practical and comprehensive advice.

Matthew acts for all groups in the domestic and international construction industry including developers, housing associations, public bodies, contractors, sub-contractors and construction professionals. He represents parties in mediation, adjudication, arbitration, expert determination and litigation proceedings and has experience of acting as advocate at meetings before adjudicators.

Lena Barnes, Senior Associate, Construction & Engineering

Lena specialises in construction dispute resolution. In addition to advising clients on formal disputes, she frequently aids clients during the life cycle of live projects.

Lena has worked with employers, developers, contractor and members at various levels of the supply chain. She has experience advising clients using most major forms of construction contract including JCT, NEC, FIDIC, etc.
