This summer will see Devonshires take part in a variety of events to help raise vital funds for our three chosen charities – Friends of the Elderly, my AFK and Theatre Royal Stratford East.
Our summer fundraising begins on Saturday, 4th August when members of our Banking, Governance and Corporate team take on the challenge of the AJ Bell London Triathlon Relay.
James Santos-Murphy, Nicki Thompson, Carolyn Thomas, Jonathan Jarvis, Gary Grigor and Luke Bevis will all be taking part.
This is the 11th Year running that Devonshires has entered the Triathlon event and is the first year we are entering two teams to raise money for our chosen charities.
The following weekend, Devonshires will be attending the Friends of the Elderly Summer fete. Taking place on 11th and 12th August at Moor House care home in Surrey, this annual event is an important fundraiser for the care home.
A team from Devonshires will be helping to set up the fete and spend time with residents throughout the afternoon.
On 17th August, our annual sports day returns at Clapham Common. 4 teams are being sponsored to take part in some ‘old school’ sports day games, testing their balance, agility, teamwork and strength in the egg and spoon, wheelbarrow and 3-legged races plus a tug of war and wellie toss.
At the other end of the sports spectrum, we will be running a 5k ‘game show-inspired’ obstacle course to raise money for my AFK on Saturday 8 September. This Rough Runner challenge is similar to total wipe out and ninja warrior but combines obstacles with distance running, making it even harder!
