York Community Stadium Project voted “Property Deal of the Year” at Property Week’s 2018 annual awards


Devonshires are delighted to announce that the York Community Stadium Project was voted “Property Deal of the Year” at Property Week’s 2018 annual awards.

Devonshires’ acted on behalf of Greenwich Leisure Limited, who teamed up with Wrenbridge Sport to deliver this project on behalf of the Council of the City of York.

The development comprises the design and build of an 8,000 seat stadium for the combined use of York City Football Club and York City Knights Rugby League Club, in addition to leisure and hospitality facilities, retail and cinema units, a library zone and NHS hospital teaching facilities.

Paul Buckland, Head of Devonshires’ Real Estate and Projects team said:

“Greenwich Leisure is the country’s leading provider of sport, leisure and cultural services and this community hub and stadium redevelopment project will generate substantial and long-lasting regeneration, health and welfare benefits for the city and wider community.

“This is the sixth major leisure and cultural services project that Devonshires have advised Greenwich Leisure on and serves to emphasise Devonshires standing in the market.”

The Devonshires team was led by Paul Buckland and comprised Caroline Mostowfi, Robert Turner, Kris Kelliher, Elen Storey, Phillip Evans and Jamie Leonard.
