Areas of Expertise

Alicia is a Solicitor in our Construction, Engineering & Procurement team. Alicia specialises in contentious work and has represented clients in mediations, arbitrations and court disputes.

Experience

Alicia worked in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution team for two and a half years before moving to the Construction, Engineering & Procurement team, and thereafter the Real Estate & Projects team, as a Trainee.

From her time in the Litigation team, Alicia has gained knowledge in various areas such as insolvency, insurance, as well as contractual and other commercial disputes.

Alicia is the host of the Devonshires LDR podcast which gives listeners a snapshot of the type of work the Litigation & Dispute Resolution team is involved in.

Alicia regularly writes articles for the Devonshires website and has recently written an updates on the Cladding Safety Scheme, as well as the Responsible Actors Scheme.

Education

Alicia graduated with a First-Class Marketing Degree at the University of the West of England before completing the GDL and LPC at BPP University.

Notable Cases

Alicia was part of the Devonshires team that acted for Uniworld River Cruises Inc in the successful €7.5m claim against MSC after their 65,000 tonne ocean-going cruise liner ran into Uniworld’s much smaller inland river cruise ship River Countess. The case involved both insured and uninsured losses, and was heard under Italian law before the Admiralty Division of the English High Court.
