Andrew is a Senior Associate in our Litigation & Dispute Resolution team. He has considerable experience in complex and high value commercial disputes often with cross border elements.

Andrew has been involved in matters before the County Court, High Court, and Court of Appeal. He has a wide range of experience which covers complex contractual disputes, commercial fraud, professional negligence, defamation, and debt recovery.

Experience

Since moving to London, Andrew has worked at Slaughter & May and a specialist commercial litigation firm based in Holborn. Before that, Andrew was a barrister and solicitor at a leading specialist litigation firm in New Zealand.

Notable Cases

Andrew assisted in successfully challenging the jurisdiction of the English courts to hear a US $14b conspiracy claim brought by a former Russian Oligarch.

Andrew assisted in striking out a £6m claim brought by a Russian trustee in bankruptcy following the Claimant’s non-compliance with an unless order.

Andrew acted on behalf of a property developer in bringing a NZ $92m breach of contract claim alleging that the local council bodies failed to construct the local town centre as agreed.

Andrew acted on behalf of 256 unit title owners in bringing a professional negligence claim against the former solicitors who represented the Body Corporate in leaky building litigation before the New Zealand Supreme Court.
