Areas of Expertise

Charlotte is an Associate in our Banking team primarily specialising in social and affordable housing finance transactions.

Before qualifying Charlotte worked as a paralegal in our Securitisation Team and she continues use this knowledge when advising on a range of financial arrangements. Charlotte has experience advising lenders, borrowers and trustees on a range of transactions including merger/group reorganisations, facility restructuring, sustainability-linked lending, intra-group lending and private bond issues.


Experience

Prior to joining Devonshires, Charlotte worked as a legal assistant in a top conveyancing firm in Leeds as part of the residential property team.


Education

Charlotte graduated from the University of Huddersfield with a Masters in Law and Practice, which combines the LPC with the traditional LLB degree.


Personal

Charlotte enjoys keeping fit and active in her spare time by teaching dance classes, training at the gym and running. She regularly competes in both dance and fitness competitions.

Notable Cases

Following a private placement note issuance to More Homes Waltham Forest LLP, Charlotte advises BAE Systems Pension Fund Investment Management Ltd as investor ensuring that each of the proposed properties are acceptable as security. Charlotte assisted in creating the pro forma suite of documentation and deals with all aspects of the securitisation process from reviewing certificates of title to registering the charges post completion.

Charlotte advised an Essex based Registered Provider on the funding aspects of its acquisition by another Registered Provider following financial and commercial difficulties.

Charlotte advised Riverside on their merger with One Housing which saw One Housing transfer its engagements to Riverside in March 2023. Charlotte conducted due diligence on the respective loan portfolios and advised on funder consents.

Charlotte, alongside the team, advised Gentoo on the refinance of its legacy funding by way of a private placement and bank facilities which included sustainability-linked loan provisions.

Charlotte advised a Northern Irish Registered Provider on its first private placement debt capital markets deal of £100m and advised on all funding matters relating thereto.
