Areas of Expertise

Charlotte advises on tenanted stock and portfolio transfers with a particular emphasis on dealing with shared ownership portfolios. Charlotte also undertakes complex development work, including dealing with option agreements and complex lease arrangements involving building leases and call option structures for a number of Registered Providers and charitable bodies.

Charlotte also has experience dealing with landlord and tenant matters, sale contracts, leases, transfers and ancillary documentation for development projects.

Experience

Charlotte graduated from Southampton University with an Upper Second Class Honours degree in law before completing her LPC at the College of Law.

Prior to Devonshires Charlotte worked for a Hewitsons Moorhead, a large regional firm with a London presence where she advised on a variety of commercial property transactions including promotion agreements and development agreements, acting for both landowners and developers.

Personal

When not baking at the weekend for her family Charlotte is a keen golfer and can be found trying to get a few holes in!

Notable Cases

Charlotte recently acted for a major institutional investor to fund a targeted £500m pipeline of shared ownership properties.

Charlotte acted on a complex, large scale development transaction which involved a multiple lease structure together with call and put options. The transaction also involved various ancillary documents included an early works licence, co-operation agreement and commercial leases.

Charlotte recently acted for a Register Provider who acquired units which were subject to a complex building lease structure which involved various conditions and two other parties.

Charlotte previously acted on the sale of a mixed use building for a property investment company to a pension fund. Her knowledge of previous investment sales allowed Charlotte to negotiate the documentation within a very short timescale.

Charlotte has advised numerous Registered Providers on the transfer of affordable housing units within development sites together with providing advice on the ancillary documentation involved in such transactions.
