James joined Devonshires in March 2022 and advises on a range of contentions construction and regulatory matters. James has experience acting on behalf of Employers, Contractors, Sub-Contractors, Management Companies and Private Individuals on a variety of construction disputes.
Prior to joining Devonshires, James practiced at a UK Top 200 East Anglian firm within the Legal 500 recognised construction department.

Outside of work, James enjoys hiking, rebuilding his classic motorcycle and is working towards becoming competitive at small-bore target shooting.
James is a member of the Society of Construction law.
Examples of James’ recent work includes a successful appeal against an Enforcement Notice instigating a Waking Watch, defending misrepresentation claims against directors in their personal capacity, licensing matters (including taxi, gambling and premises licenses) and claims against contractors for defective works.
