James has experience in development work, large-scale stock transfer projects, intragroup transfers and general commercial work for a number of Registered Providers and charitable bodies.

Experience

James has been with Devonshires for 10 years, from paralegal to solicitor and qualified in 2012. James was a solicitor in our Securitisation department for 3 years before moving to our Real Estate & Projects department.

Education

James graduated from Anglia University with a BSc in Business and Law, before completing his LPC at Westminster University.

Notable Cases

James acted for The Riverside Group Limited and Swan Housing Association Limited on their £250 million bond issues. The transaction enabled them to raise additional finance for future development work.

James advised a number of RP clients on their private placements, enabling them to access the capital markets for additional funding for their core activities.

James acted for an RP on a stock swap stock swap of over 700 units worth in excess of £40m, including resolving issues in relation to grant funding and the novation of existing contracts.

James acted for an RP on their intra-group transfer of tenanted stock of over 2000 units with a net worth of in excess of £100m

James recently acted for an RP in their acquisition of a development site including a lease back arrangement of a commercial unit.
