Areas of Expertise

Zahid’s previous experience includes acting for landlords, tenants and developers on residential property and leasehold enfranchisement matters. Zahid specialises in leasehold enfranchisement and freehold acquisitions under the Leasehold Reform Acts, advising registered providers and housing associations on complex property matters. 

Zahid also works as part of the wider Real Estate & Projects team, assisting clients on sales, purchases, land transfers, right to buy, right to acquire, licences to alter, deeds of variations and buybacks.

Zahid gained vast experience within the residential property sector as a trainee and solicitor at specialist property law firms, advising on leasehold enfranchisement and property matters for developers, landlords and tenants.

Personal

Outside of Devonshires, Zahid is involved in charity work where he supports his local community by delivering food parcels to families in need. Zahid also enjoys playing Squash and travelling in his spare time.

Notable Cases

Collective Enfranchisement of a Block – Zahid acted for a group of 6 leaseholders on the process of collectively acquiring the freehold from the Landlord.

Statutory Lease Extensions and Freehold Acquisition – Zahid acted for a Registered Provider on the successful submission of statutory notices for lease extensions and freehold acquisitions under the Leasehold Reform Acts.

First Registration – Zahid acted for a registered provider on the successful first registration of a large residential estate.
