Due to the popularity of the breakfast briefing that was held on 12 February, we will be rerunning this session as a webinar.

This webinar focuses on the significant package of leasehold reform measures that the Government released on 27 January, including the publication of the long-awaited Draft Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Bill.

In addition to covering the key elements of the Bill, this session will focus in particular on the open consultation “Moving to commonhold: banning leasehold for new flats”. We will explore the key proposals, including the case for potential exemptions from the ban, the proposed timing of its introduction, and the transitional arrangements that may be required. We will also discuss the practical implications of these reforms.

We hope this briefing will assist attendees in shaping and refining their consultation responses ahead of its closure on 24 April 2026.

    This session will cover:

    • Draft Commonhold & Leasehold Reform Bill: Command Paper
    • Open Consultation: Moving to Commonhold: Banning Leasehold for new flats
