Areas of Expertise

Lale is an Associate in our Real Estate team and works with clients on a variety of development projects including large scale regenerations, acquisitions of land for the development new housing and the delivery of affordable housing.

Lale advises clients on a range of documentation including development agreements, JV agreements, conditional contracts, planning agreements, infrastructure agreements and leases for Registered Providers and private developers.

Lale also works closely with our corporate and commercial team in relation to ensuring that clients have the right structures in place to deliver and fund their development programmes and to manage ongoing schemes. This includes the incorporation of management companies and various management and service agreements.


Experience

Before undertaking her training contract, Lale was a Paralegal at Devonshires as part of the Development Sales team specialising in plot sales, affordable housing and shared ownership.

During her training contract, Lale spent a year in the Banking, Governance & Corporate team assisting on various joint ventures, restructures and corporate acquisitions and mergers. Lale also trained closely with one of our commercial partners advising on several data protection and privacy matters and completed a seat in Housing Management and Real Estate.

Notable Cases

Assisted on joint venture on behalf of Home Group in relation to the regeneration of the Douglas Bader Estate in Barnet, London. The redevelopment, which will provide over 650 new homes and green spaces have been supported throughout the process by the residents, the Greater London Authority (GLA) and Barnet Council.

Assisted on strategic joint venture between national housebuilder Lovell Partnerships and North West housing association Trafford Housing Trust with a view to create much needed quality developments across the North West region, starting with a development in Whalley, located in the Ribble Valley. Delivering exceptional social value and a range of affordable housing is a key part of the joint venture with an impressive 30% of homes at the 25-acre Whalley development set to be either shared ownership or affordable rent properties. Acting on behalf of THT, I assisted in the negotiations of various documents including the LLP Agreement Corporate Services Agreement and the Sales & Marketing Agreement.
