Job Purpose
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive client development specialist to support our busy BD team. This role will suit someone with excellent attention to detail and who is able to manage a taskbased workload with accuracy.
The successful candidate will need to be an energetic and focused individual with the ability to quickly build relationships in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will take pride in their work, enjoy working as part of a team, and be proud of Devonshires.
The Team
The Client Development Executive sits within the Business Development Department led by the Head of Business Development. The team are a close-knit, hardworking team dealing with a full spectrum of tasks including bids, tenders and pitches; client relationship management; new business development; seminars, events and networking.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is not an exhaustive list and from time to time it may be necessary to vary these to meet the department and business needs
This position supports the Business Development team with client development activities across the firm. Working closely with all members of the Marketing & Business Development team and Partners across the firm, this role will support on all aspects including:
- Client Relationship Management and development of focused key client plans
- Co-ordinating client activity including our social and added value commitments to clients and delivering on reporting requirements for key clients and legal frameworks/panels
- Maintaining vital information on the internal client database
- Collating information and statistics to produce reports and track the value of activity
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of client focused events and conferences
- Supporting the delivery of client focused thought leaderships campaigns in conjunction with marketing
- Supporting the tracking and reporting of opportunities and targets generated through marketing and business development activities
- Assisting with developing and implementing procedures for effective data management
- Conducting client, competitor and market research
- Maintaining an interest in and awareness of the sectors we operate in
- Build relationships with CRM Partners, Fee Earners and clients directly
- Prepare compelling social and added value statements for tender content
- Support the Head of Business Development to deliver client development programmes around key account management, client satisfaction and client listening that enhance the client experience and service delivery, client retention, cross-selling and generate revenue growth
- Develop, manage and track client satisfaction activities, reporting and share useful data insights
Person Specification
- 5 GCSE’s or equivalent, including Maths and English
- Prior experience of working within a Marketing and BD environment in a professional services firm
- Previous experience of working in a client development executive role
- Attention to detail to produce work and reports to a consistently a high standard
- Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Has a flexible can-do approach
- Ability to build relationships with colleagues, Partners and Fee Earners
- Be keen to identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency and promoting best practice
- Must enjoy working as part of a team and possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Willingness to excel within a professional services environment and keen to learn
