James Banner is a Chartered Project Management Surveyor and Head of Contracts at Orbit Homes, where he leads the delivery of new build schemes constructed by external contractors.  James led the implementation of BIM on Orbit’s first trial BIM project.  Prior to working at Orbit, James was an Associate Partner at a multi-disciplinary Construction Consultancy where is acted Project Manager or Employers Agent on new build housing schemes of up to 190 units as well as new build schemes in the Education sector.

Kathryn has experience in contentious and non-contentious aspects of the construction industry in both the public and private sectors. She regularly drafts and negotiates bespoke contracts for clients as well as amendments to the standard forms such as the JCT and NEC suits. Kathryn regularly advises clients on BIM documentation, including various forms of Protocol and their inclusion into the contract documents. Kathryn also advises on the merits of construction disputes and represents clients in adjudication, meditation, expert determination and litigation.

George is the Managing Director of ActivePlan, and works with building owners to reduce financial, statutory and operation risk by means of more reliable and constantly updated information – including utilisation and performance. George develops processes to simplify the specification and capture of Asset Data from BIM and surveys and transforming the data into an environment that supports elements of Level 3 BIM.

Mark is the technical director of Airey Miller and a qualified MRICS Building Surveyor with over 15 years’ experience working in the Affordable Housing Sector. Mark takes the lead in delivering various new build residential schemes through the entire procurement process from inception through to contract, start on site and completion. Mark has actively contributed in seminar’s regarding BIM, ‘Building a Safer Future’, “golden thread” and can advise on matters relating to the Regulatory Reform changes.

Das leads strategic R&D projects to create new solutions and services and recent examples include the digital strategy to fully refurbish the Media Centre and new camera gantry at Lord’s Cricket Ground, as well as the design and delivery of the award-winning Mayfield School using modular off-site construction. As a key player in the practice’s adoption of BIM technology he regularly speaks on digital design and construction at industry events. He also regularly mentors and supports student through initiatives such as PLACED in the North West, Class of Your Own, RIBA Student Mentoring and Open City’s Accelerate programme.  Das is also the lead on the BIM4Housing Design Working Group.
