With rent convergence coming into play from April 2027, registered providers (RPs) need to start planning now to ensure there is sufficient time to prepare before rent increase notices land on residents’ doormats.

Effective implementation will require more than simply calculating new rents. RPs will need to consider how they communicate with residents, whether their systems and processes can manage the additional sums to be collected, and - crucially - when to stop applying convergence.
