Gary is a Partner in our Banking team and co-heads the wider Leeds office alongside Chris Drabble.

He acts for borrowers, lenders and trustees on real-estate finance related arrangements, with a renowned specialism in social housing finance.

He has extensive experience of advising on a range of financial instruments and arrangements, including syndicated and bilateral loan facilities; facility restructurings; mergers; group collapses; intra-group funding; interest rate derivatives; private shelf facilities, and high-value private bond issues.

Education

Gary graduated from Durham University with BA (Hons) in Economics and Politics, before completing his CPE at the College of Law in York and the LPC at BPP in Leeds.

Advised on the refinance of Anchor’s £325m revolving credit facility involving 4 club participants.

Advised bpha on refinancing its multi-lender legacy syndicate facility, into 4 bilateral facility agreements totalling £530m of debt arrangements

Advised Riverside on a £75m private placement with Barings Bank and a new £150m facility agreement with ABN Amro.

Advised Your Housing Group on a new £100m private placement with Just Retirement Limited, split across two different note issuances, one with a deferred element, and for a 30 year long-term maturity.

Advised Broadacres on a £75m participation in the government backed Affordable Homes Guarantee Scheme, administered by ARA Venn.
