Job Purpose
Working with the IT team, you will be expected to be involved in implementing, configuring, and supporting various legal software applications within Devonshires. You will act as a SME for the IT team, and a point of escalation for the Service Desk. You will also be a primary contact for desk side support to senior stakeholders within the firm.
Finally, you will also be expected to provide project support and provide one to one training if required.
The Team
We are a small team delivering IT business support and training services across all our offices for our employees and partners. We are constantly looking at how we can improve the user experience and provide our users with the best solutions enabling them to work smarter and most importantly more efficiently. We work closely with a small number of suppliers to ensure that service availability is maintained within SLA.
Agile working across the firm necessitates we are pragmatic and flexible with our service delivery, therefore the highest level of IT service when supporting our users to operate remotely is fundamental to the teams approach.
Duties and Responsibilities
This is not an exhaustive list and from time to time it may be necessary to vary these to meet the department and business needs.
- Project Work: Assist the IT Team in projects including the deployment of legal software applications, hardware refreshes, and with configuring and testing of software.
- Technical Support: Provide expert technical support to lawyers, paralegals, and legal staff regarding legal software applications. Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues, both independently and by coordinating with vendors and in house IT teams.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME): You will be a SME for the IT Department, acting as an escalation point for the Service Desk, alongside managing your own tickets and providing support to senior stakeholders.
- Security and Compliance: Maintain an understanding of, and assist in compliance with, relevant legal regulations and standards pertaining to data privacy and security. Implement security measures to protect sensitive legal information
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors to address issues and coordinate support.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with advancements in legal technology and identify opportunities to enhance the legal software ecosystem within the organisation.
Person Specification
Essential skills
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 5 of above (or equivalent) including grade 6 in English Language, Literature & Maths;
- At least two years of experience achieved within a similar professional working environment;
- Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload;
- A flexible approach to ensure all deadline are met;
- Must be able to work as part of a team and possess excellent communication skills;
- A lively and enthusiastic personality with a service orientated approach;
- Excellent trouble shooting skills;
- Experience of some of the following: iManage Work 10, Microsoft Office 365, pdfDocs, Partner for Windows, Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft Copilot, Clio Operate (formerly ShareDo).
