Your property portfolio underpins funding, development and long-term resilience. Our strategic asset management work focuses on property charging and portfolio management for Registered Providers and Registered Social Landlords, helping you maximise the value of your assets and the strength of your security.
We support you with immediate charging requirements while keeping a clear eye on longer-term asset optimisation. Property charging sits at the heart of this work, but our advice also addresses how your portfolio is structured and managed, so assets continue to support organisational objectives as circumstances evolve.
We advise on the technical and practical issues that commonly restrict chargeability and value, including boundary issues and unregistered land restrictions. Addressing these issues early reduces delay, protects flexibility and strengthens your position when funding is required.
This combination of technical precision, forward planning and calm judgement allows us to support effective property asset management, ensuring your assets are managed in a way that protects and enhances their long-term value.
We advise Registered Providers and Registered Social Landlords on property charging and portfolio management matters that directly affect asset value and security. Our work includes:
We also deliver bespoke workshop training sessions for client teams, focused on reducing risk and improving outcomes. These sessions cover:
Our Strategic Asset Solutions work is led by Partner and Head of Property Security, Sharon Kirkham, alongside Partners Chris Drabble, Saghar Roya, Carlos Fernandes, and Rachel Eldridge. They lead a specialist team of more than 30 lawyers focused on property charging and wider property security work.
Sharon Kirkham has worked in the Property Security team since 1994, and the team collectively brings more than 170 years’ experience advising on property security and securitisation matters. This depth of experience underpins our ability to manage complex charging programmes and portfolio work with consistency and precision.
Working across our London, Leeds and Colchester offices, the team operates as a single unit supported by our Devonshires Toolkit. This enables us to manage volume and complexity efficiently, while maintaining close attention to detail.
If you are planning a funding exercise, reviewing your asset base or preparing properties for charging, we can help you understand what needs to be addressed and how best to protect and maximise the value of your assets.
