Areas of Expertise
Mark’s background is in the area of non-contentious construction. In recent years, Mark’s expertise has extended to the wider built environment. Mark is one of the new professional support lawyers that joined our expanding practice in 2022 to assist our Construction, Engineering & Procurement and Sustainability & Decarbonisation teams.
As a fee earner, Mark acted for the full range of clients (government bodies, public sector entities, property developers, contractors, consultants and funders) on a number of UK real estate development and PFI projects and international infrastructure projects. Mark’s experience includes industry form contacts such as the JCT, NEC, CIC, FIDIC and MF suites.
Mark trained with Clifford Chance and then gained his Construction law experience as a fee earner with CMS before moving across to business support. Prior to joining Devonshires, Mark worked in a number of regional, national and international knowledge roles within the Construction practice areas at CMS, DLA Piper and most recently Norton Rose Fulbright.
As part of his law degree, Mark spent a year studying in Russia, at Voronezh State University.
Mark’s hobbies include foreign languages, current affairs and travel and his favourite pastimes are walking and swimming.
As a construction lawyer, Mark has a keen interest in the history of the built environment and architecture. He is also interested in social activism and is involved in fund- raising in the social care space.
Mark’s experience in the knowledge space includes current awareness, internal training and knowledge management (know how and precedents), client webinars, articles and thought leadership.
