Alex advises social housing providers on all aspects of housing litigation including disrepair, anti-social behaviour, Equality Act issues, breach of tenancy issues and failed succession matters. She also provides client training on a range of topics.
She qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2007 and joined Devonshires in 2023. Prior to this, she worked for Anthony Collins LLP between 2003 and 2023, joining as a trainee Legal Executive and eventually becoming a Senior Associate.
She is a keen amateur photographer and enjoy spending time outdoors.
She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
She has assisted a client to settle a disrepair claim where there was a significant disagreement between respective experts over completion of necessary works. She negotiated a Schedule of Works which reflected the clients experts findings but included a few minor items from the tenants experts report meaning that a settlement could be reached and completion of works was not a sticking point which prevented early settlement and avoided unnecessary costs being incurred.
She has advised a client on a complex ASB matter where the tenant has been held on a mental health section due to their behaviour. Advice has included determining capacity to litigate for the purposes of Court litigation should it become necessary.
